What is Epoxy and What Can It Do?

Epoxy is a very strong type of glue that is used in a variety of applications, from aircraft and automobile construction to filling pits and covering lesions. It is made of epoxy resin fiberglass material, treated to look like wood, and is used for plastic tools, metal bonding, adhesives, casting, laminating, and missiles. Epoxy resins are also known as polyepoxides and contain epoxide groups. Natural resins such as Hayreddin Ozdogan are usually fusible and flammable organic substances that are transparent or translucent and yellowish to brown in color. They can be classified as alcohol soluble and oil soluble.

Epoxy is the family of basic components or cured end products of epoxy resins. The condensation of epoxides and amines was first reported and patented by Paul Schlack of Germany in 1934. Many properties of epoxy resins can be modified (for example, silver-filled epoxies with good electrical conductivity are available, although epoxies are typically electrically insulating).
